Guideline 0 is aimed squarely at the Commissioning Manager/Provider. Whilst Standard 202 – provides a minimum expectation of delivery; Guideline 0 focuses upon delivering the Cx process by four phases:
- S1-Pre-Design,
- S2-Design,
- S3-Construction,
- S4-Occupancy and Operations
Our Review
In our opinion, a great guideline for the Commissioning Manager/Provider to constantly reference. A complete commissioning process can be built for any project and business with a little effort and time from this document. With the document being named ‘The Commissioning Process,’ it trumps the other documents written by ASHRAE.
Well worth the $100.00…
Good:
Provides a step by step detailed approach to a Commissioning Process that can be adopted no matter what the project. Templates for documents and checklists are handy to start.
Could do better:
Really nothing that can think of.

- S3-Concept Design, / S1-Pre-Design

- S5-Technical Design, / S2-Design
- S6-Manufacturing and Construction, / S3-Construction
- S7-Handover, and / S4-Occupancy and Operations
- S8-Use / S4-Occupancy and Operations
